Where: Turin, Italy
When: november 2006
What: Alternative Rock

We were born in november 2006 and we're from Turin, Italy.
Die is the singer.
Poli plays the bass.
Mauri is the guitarist (new entry, oh yeah!).
The drummer is Mario Rossi. Actually his real name is Andrea and he's Poli's brother.
We recorded an EP called "Warning Agony Way" in may 2007 at Sub Mix Pro Studio (Turin). It has 5 songs and you can download it for free here.
Poli played both bass and guitar in that record 'cause we didn't have a guitarist at that time.
When the EP came out we found a guitarist and we played lots of shows with him but then he left after a year.
We're now in the middle of the recording process of our first album called "For Rent" and it'll be ready for the end of the year.
Tell your friends about us if you dig our songs. We'll appreciate it very much.

It all started with the name Hocksaw in 2002 when we formed a band and started playing (mostly) punk rock covers. Diego was the singer, Fabry was the guitarist and I was the drummer. We actually have never played live shows (apart from 2 or 3 at school parties) and have always played in a rehearsing studio once a week, until we decided to write our own songs. The problem was that we had very different musical tastes and we also couldn't find a real drummer because I didn't want to play drums no more and I wanted to play the bass. Some months wasted looking for a substitute until we realized that my 15-year-old brother (Andrea) was fastly becoming a kick ass musician. He was in the band at once but after few months the relationship between us and Fabry was quite fucked up because of his metal songs that he wanted us to play. So he joined the death metal band "Infected" first, then he started playing with the gothic rock band "Tearsfall". Not having a guitarist, Hocksaw split up.

Some months later Diego and I thought about how much we loved playing in a band, so we asked Andrea if he wanted to start from the scratch with a brand new band called AGONY WAY and he obviously said yes! That was a very good moment for us... it was simply Hocksaw but without guitarist (yes, i had to play guitar during the rehearsals and write the bass lines at home). We started playing our own songs since the first time we went to the studio. Just me, Diego and Andrea (for this band he changed his name into Mario Rossi). AW first line-up
Agony Way couldn't play shows yet (not having a live guitarist) so we decided to concentrate on our songs because we wanted to record our first demo (that later became an EP). So in february 2007 we recorded the two songs "At Terror Street" and "May Be" just to see if we could afford a recording session -it was the first time for us. The result was good, we liked the thing and decided to write some other songs, now aiming for an EP.
Here they are: "Looking Back", "32" and "The Creation Of Evidence" were our three favourite new songs that we wanted to put on the record. In may 2007 we went to the studio again to finish the work (we also re-recorded drums and bass for "At Terror Street" & the guitars and part of the voice for "May Be"). The EP was ready! It came out with the title "Warning Agony Way" (first name of the band); 350 hand-numbered and self-produced copies that we give for free at shows.
Anyway, we had to start looking for a guitarist so we put a bunch of announcements on the web and some people were interested. The first one was Umberto; we met, we plugged the instruments and he already knew how to play two songs of our EP. We immediately liked the fact that he was so available for the band and he really had the wish of playing with us. Some days later we spoke and decided that he was the right guitarist for the band. This happened just a week after the realisation of the cd. Finally from that moment on we were a real band! I started sending the cds to magazines, webzines, labels and friends in every part of the world (always for free). .

Time to concentrate on new songs: with the new Agony Way member we started writing something new, first of all "Dunzo" and "Hadoken". As you may notice by coming to our shows, we quite changed our sound.
Too bad, Umberto left the band 1 year later (June 2008) just when we were ready to record our debut album.
"Never give up" they say, so the album (entitled For Rent) will be recorded with Mauri (our new guitarist) in July/September and will come out at the beginning of 2009.

In the meantime take a look at our next shows and make sure you come and check us out!

Personally, I'm speechless.
I'll just write this thing like I tell you a story, a pretty short story. In 2000 I met some guys who changed my life and, if things move in this way on and better, my entire life. With two of those guys I discovered my passion for music; this passion was so huge that we couldn't make anything but a rock band. Now, all these words will seem you very original that you won't believe them.. of course I'm joking.
We were three losers (but so good looking) who just wanted to play music and hang around, so nothing special like concerts or record a full length. We were REQUIEM! (god I'm shaking right now just writing this name after so many years). That was a complete mistake and a mix of very bad musical tastes but we just wanted to play, remember? So whatever, we didn't give a shit. We practised whenever we could and we were already fucking better to play covers (right, also pop covers) and all this stuff that a brand new band could do. Now, we were a band but nobody knew us and after one or two years, I can't actually remember, we wanted to change that relationship with the music we had and make it a little bit more serious. So we chose another name, I chose another name for the band searching on the dictionary the coolest word ever. Yes, I found it.. ready?.. HOCKSAW.
Ok, it's not a real word but who cares! It should be HACKSAW but I didn't like it.. I prefered something that didn't mean anything.
No, I'm writing too much!
Shortly, there was a brand new name for a brand new band, right, cause one night our guitarist Fabry talked to us and said: WE ARE A GREEN DAY COVER BAND. Poli and I were stocked. I mean, we adored Green Day and we love them now, but we never thought about the thing in an official way. So band members didn't change and except the name everything was like before.. I was the singer, Poli the drummer and Fabry the guitarist. We needed a bass player of course. Fortunately I can't remember how was the right consequence but we discovered that Poli's little brother could play drums.
Then was too easy. Poli started playing bass and everything was ok. We played Green Day songs very well (I'm saying cause people told us), so finally we were a band! But Mrs. Bastard Curse was behind us! I mean, after too much time, Fabry still wanted to play just cover songs but Poli and I wanted to try writing something ours. Everything to improve.
Fabry had not the same idea.. so bye Fabry, he joined a metal band and then a goth rock band (musical tastes he ever loved and he still loves). Now for incomprehension we were fucked up and had no guitarist. In 2006 (I think it was on November), after one sad year of no working and no hope, we changed name and mood.
Poli, Poli's little brother Andre and I were AGONY WAY. Ok, it's not so right to think to be a real rock band without a guitar but why stop it!?...
God, I seriously can't write so much! It's late, it's 5 a.m. and I'm tired without having just one fucking beer this evening. I have to stop this.. you already read our story before with Poli and Mario Rossi (Andre), the most important thing you have to know is I love my band so much that I won't ever be able to explain. Passion for music means a lot for me and I like so much playing live. I want to thank on this website all of our few fans. Keep listening to our music and enjoy it. We love you.
